Calvin
Miller assumed his new duties when he retired from Beeson Divinity
School in 2007. Before coming to the divinity school, he was professor
of communication and ministry studies, and writer-in-residence at
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He previously served as
pastor of Westside Baptist Church, Omaha, Nebraska. Miller is a poet,
artist, novelist and evangelist. He is the author of more than 40
books and numerous articles on religion and preaching. His books
include The Empowered Communicator, Market-Place Preaching, Spirit, Word and Story, The Sermon Maker, O Shepherd, Where Art Thou?, and Preaching: The Art of Narrative Exposition. He and his wife, Barbara, have two adult children.
